Even for me!

Sunday 7-10-2016   Home in Modesto
Scripture Reading:  Micah 5 – 7     Hebrews 7
S=Scripture  O=Observation  A=Application  P=Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  Mic 7:18-19  Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?  He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy.  He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities.  You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.  NKJV

O.  Micah preaches destruction and heavy judgment against the sins of the people that God had specifically called out and blessed with His laws.  They knew better, but they consistently failed.  But just as in the books of many of the other prophets, Micah closes his message with hope.  Our sinfulness is not denied, but God is presented as ready to forgive us whenever we come to Him with humility and repentance.

A.  I am so glad that I have met the true and living God Who is ready to pardon my sins.  He is the One Who delights in mercy.

P.  Lord Jesus, You, too, like the prophets of the Old Testament, spoke out strongly against sin.  But You did not only present us a God willing to forgive us.  You went one step further and carried my sin to the altar of Calvary and became the very “first and only” perfect sacrifice for our sins, providing forgiveness and cleansing for every repentant sinner... even for me.  I find it easy to love You, Lord Jesus.  And since You are the Perfect Image of Our Heavenly Father, I also find it easy to love Him.  Oh how I love You!  Amen.

Down from His Glory
Written by my pastor, Wm. Booth-Clibborn

Down from His glory, Ever-living story
My God and Savior came and Jesus was His name.
Born in a manger, to His own a stranger,
A Man of sorrows, tears and agony.

Oh! How I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my Sunshine, My All in All!
The great Creator became my Savior!
And all God’s fullness dwelleth in Him!

What condescension, bringing us redemption
That in the dead of night, not one faint hope in sight;
God, gracious, tender, laid aside His splendor,
Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul.

Oh! How I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my Sunshine, My All in All!
The great Creator became my Savior!
And all God’s fullness dwelleth in Him!

Without reluctance, flesh and blood His substance
He took the form of man... Revealed the hidden plan.
Oh! Glorious mystery, sacrifice of Calvary,
And now I know Thou art the Great “I am.”

Oh! How I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my Sunshine, My All in All!
The great Creator became my Savior!
And all God’s fullness dwelleth in Him!
