Thursday   9-3-15 (Home in Modesto)

Scripture reading:  Eze. 20-21    Ps. 111    Rev. 8

S=Scripture O=Observation A=Application P=Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  Ps 111:1-3  Praise the LORD!  I will thank the LORD with all my heart as I meet with his godly people.   How amazing are the deeds of the LORD!  All who delight in him should ponder them.  Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.  NLT

O.  When Godly people get together they should share the amazing deeds that God has done.

A.  What happened to the “testimony time” in our services?  Several years ago our Neighborhood Church did a Sunday morning of “cardboard testimonies.”  From behind the curtain on the stage a man came forward holding a cardboard.  Written on it in bold letters: “Addicted to Alcohol.”  Then flipped the sign over.  On the other side was written something like “Set Free Forever”.   I had known this man for years and had never suspected this was in his past.  One by one they came each with a few written words telling of their past... and flipped the sign with a statement of victory.  Cancer, drug addiction, pregnancies, broken lives; destroyed and restored marriages and much more.  Testimony times!  We all need them.

P.  Lord, Jesus I rejoice with the lost that have been found, the broken that have been restored, the sick that have been healed, the addicted that have been set free and atheists that have found their Creator and yes, even demon possessed that have been delivered.   As the years have taken me to Argentina and many other countries, I have witnessed thousands of such cases.  You are in the same business as You described in Isaiah 61:1-3, the scripture that You read in the Nazareth Synagogue, when You announced Your ministry to Your own neighborhood.   Surely it is true!  You are “the same yesterday, today and forever!” (Heb 13:8)  Every miracle speaks of Your power, love and mercy.  Amen.

Ralph
