S=Scripture O=Observation A=Application P=Prayer SOAP for
the soul.
S. Zech 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout,
Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having
salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a
donkey.
Vs 10 His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the
ends of the earth. NIV
Mark 11:9 He was in the center of the procession, and the crowds all
around him were shouting, "Praise God! Bless the one who comes in
the name of the Lord!” NLT
O. The long awaited day had
finally arrived. Jesus would publically accept the role of the prophetic
words of Zechariah written almost 500 years earlier. These people were
well acquainted with the prophet’s words. It is only logical that they
should rejoice, for they saw Jesus as their long awaited Messiah King. He
would bring peace and His reign would have no borders.
A. But these sincere worshippers
could not understand that the peace He would bring would be an inner peace and
His borderless Kingdom would be established in believing hearts of men and
women of all nations. Yes, His Kingdom came! But their political
hopes were placed on hold... for it proved to be a spiritual Kingdom.
P. Lord, today I am enjoying the
peace of Your borderless Kingdom. While the whole world rocks and reels
with political upheaval, Your peace reigns in my heart. I am secure in
Your protection. This fleeting life is only the gateway into another
life, where we shall enjoy Your Kingdom and time will have lost its
meaning. What a day that will be! Amen.
Ralph
