"No man ever spoke like this Man!"

Scripture Reading:  2 King 23    2 Chron 35    John 7
S=Scripture  O=Observation  A=Application  P=Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  John 7:37-38 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.  He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."  NKJV
Isa 55:1-2 "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?” NKJV

O.  Jesus has literally walked into the jaws of death. He knows that the Jewish religious leadership is plotting to arrest and kill Him. Still he travels to Jerusalem during the Passover Feast to teach and preach in the temple. He was a people magnet. Crowds gathered around Him. Now from the steps of the temple he boldly repeats the prophet Isaiah’s message in a loud voice calling thirsty souls to come to Him, the only One Who can quench their thirst.  The Jewish leaders send their officers to arrest Him and they return empty handed.  “Well, where is He?” The officers answered,"No man ever spoke like this Man!" John 7:46

A.  Do I really want to be like Jesus? He saw the temple police coming to get Him, but He didn’t flinch. Instead He preached with even more boldness. He faced arrest, torture and death to leave a clear message for the humble souls out there who would choose to put their faith in Him.

P.  Oh, God! I want to preach like that. I want the enemy forces to be stunned by a Holy Spirit anointed message and return to their senders empty handed. Or better still, may those sent from the enemy camp be captured by the message of Your love and Your offer of a new beginning. Yes, and may they be the first among those that bow at Your feet to surrender and worship You. Amen.
