In times like these, I have an Anchor.

Saturday 7-9-2016   Home in Modesto
Scripture Reading:  Micah 1 – 4    Hebrews 6
S=Scripture  O=Observation  A=Application  P=Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  Heb 6:19-20 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.  NKJV

O.  The writer to the Hebrews knows that his readers have all kinds of philosophies and religions floating around.  He is making a declaration.  The current in our culture may be strong, but we have an anchor of the soul.  It is steadfast and sure.

A.  If ever I needed an anchor it is now.  People around me seem to be just drifting with the current.  As the moral code deteriorates, most people just go with the flow.  More than ever I need the Word of God which is valid for every culture and every era.

P.  I thank You, Lord Jesus, that You are our solid rock.  You are the same yesterday, today and forever.  I can attach my anchor to You and Your Word and know that I am safe.  Amen.

In Times Like These
By Ruth Caye Jones

In times like these you need a Savior,
In times like these you need an anchor;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One,
This Rock is Jesus, the only One;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
!

In times like these you need the Bible,
In times like these, O be not idle;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One,
This Rock is Jesus, the only One;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
!

In times like these I have a Savior,
In times like these I have an anchor;
I'm very sure, I'm very sure
My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One,
This Rock is Jesus, the only One;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
