The Lamb Without Blemish and Without Spot

Wednesday 7-13-2016   Home in Modesto
Scripture Reading:  Isaiah 15-18     Hebrews 10
S=Scripture  O=Observation  A=Application  P=Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  Heb 10:5-7 "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, 'Behold, I have come — In the volume of the book it is written of Me — To do Your will, O God.'"  NKJV

O. Clearly the writer to the Hebrews declares that animal sacrifices were only designed to prepare God’s people to understand the “one perfect sacrifice for sin” that would one day take place. So inside the womb of a young virgin a body was being prepared for the ultimate, perfect sacrifice. By His miraculous conception He would be both human and divine. He would be the only person on this earth to ever live the perfect life without sin. He was the spotless lamb. He had come to do His Father’s will. When He faced the agony of the cross, He cried in total surrender, “Thy will be done!”  Yes, He would go through with it. It was already written in the book of Isaiah centuries before.

A.  Praise God! I have been redeemed, purchased, cleared of debt... not with silver or gold “...but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot...” (Peter 1:19 KJV)  John the Baptist pointed to Jesus and shouted to the crowd, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 NKJV)

P.  All Hail King Jesus! What I could not do to save myself, You did for me! And not for me only, but for every person who will open their heart to receive Your gift of love. You have proved Yourself to be the One and Only Way to the Father, as You clearly declared to Your disciples and John recorded for us in his gospel account. (John 14:6) Amen.

The Lamb of God
By Twila Paris
Your only Son, no sin to hide
But You have sent Him from Your side
To walk upon this guilty sod
And to become the Lamb of God

Your gift of love, they crucified
They laughed and scorned Him as He died
The humble King, they named a fraud
And sacrificed the Lamb of God

Oh, Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God
I love the holy Lamb of God
Oh, wash me in Your precious blood
My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God

I was so lost, I should have died
But You have brought me to Your side
To be led by Your staff and rod
And to be called a lamb of God

Oh, Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God
I love the holy Lamb of God
Oh, wash me in Your precious blood
My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God
