“Eternity” is in my heart. How about you?

“Eternity” is in my heart.  How about you?

Scripture Reading:  Ecc 1 – 3   Psalm 45     Eph 2
S=Scripture  O=Observation  A=Application  P=Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  Eccl 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts...” NKJV

O. Solomon’s comments on life and death in Ecclesiastes are both enlightening and frightening.  He is the richest man among all wealthy men on earth and tries out every pleasure and decides it is a bunch of froth and worthlessness.  Then he tosses in a couple of choice statements like these two that I have chosen.  God made everything beautiful in its time.  Wow!  And He has placed “eternity” in our hearts... that is powerful!

A. Almost everybody, when in the height of youth, energy and health, wants to live forever.  Something down inside of us says, “This life is not all there is.  Something is waiting for us after death.” God has placed “eternity” in our hearts. Jesus clearly teaches “eternal life” and His apostles enlarge on this subject, clarifying many issues. A beautiful Heaven awaits those that choose to follow the Christ of the Bible and an ugly alternative awaits those who choose to follow Satan to the place that God “prepared for him and his angels”, obviously not prepared for us.  (See Jesus’ words (Matt 25:41) God loves us and wants us to choose to follow His Son, Jesus.

P.  Oh my precious Lord, help me lead many to follow You to the wonderful place that You are preparing for Your followers. You covered the cost at Calvary and offer us a free ticket to Your special place to enjoy eternity with You. It can’t get better than that!  Amen.

Ralph
