Identifying our Goal

Identifying our Goal

Wednesday 6-8-2016  (Mar del Plata, Argentina)
Scripture Reading:  Ecc 7 – 9      Eph 4
S=Scripture  O=Observation  A=Application  P=Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  Eph 4:11-13 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ...  NKJV

O.  I have been privileged to be invited by Pastor Osvaldo Carnival and his church “The Cathedral of the Faith” to a great gathering of 1,400 pastors (and wives) of many denominations prepared by “Argentina, Oramos por Vos”.  Yesterday, Tuesday afternoon, Pastor Sixto Porras from Costa Rica gave us wonderful advice for pastors dealing with their families... two separate hours.  Evelyn Saint Jimenez, yes, the same lady that just completed translating my book “Argentina: A Love Story” (in Spanish “Argentina: con Amor”) taught a powerful class on the “pastor’s wife”... excellent teaching!  It made me miss Frances even more.  Then we spent one entire hour interceding for Argentina, dealing with many issues... one by one.  We still have a day and one half to go and thus far the teaching and preaching have been outstanding.

A.  Truth is that I came with a hungry heart.  Anxious for the touch of Jesus in my soul.  I will not return disappointed.

P.  Lord, Your expressed desire is to stir our hearts until we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. I still have so far to go... I will never reach this goal in this life, but soon... very soon, I will be carried to the other side where You will have all eternity to shape this vessel into something pleasing to You.  Thank you for letting me be just a little part of what You are doing in Argentina.  Amen.
