Whosoever!

Whosoever!

Saturday 12-31-16, Modesto, California
Today we read Rev 19 – 22
S = Scripture  O = Observation  A = Application  P = Prayer  SOAP for the soul.

S.  Rev 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let each one who hears them say, "Come." Let the thirsty ones come — anyone who wants to. Let them come and drink the water of life without charge. NLT

O. The Lord Jesus closes this revelation with an invitation.  Who is invited? Let the thirsty ones come — anyone who wants to. I am reminded of Isaiah 55:1 "Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink — even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk — it's all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? NLT

A. The King James version uses an old forgotten English word here and in John 3:16, Romans 10:13 and many other places. It is “Whosoever!” What a wonderful word! It includes someone living on a tiny island in some distant land. It includes my neighbor. It includes my children. It includes me! And it includes you. The Bible concludes its message with an invitation Rev 22:17 Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. KJV  Let’s get the word out!

P. Lord Jesus, Your death on the cross ripped that huge thick curtain in two. You opened the door to the heavenly Holy of Holies, the throne-room of God. Help me not to just enjoy Your glorious fellowship, but also to do my part to share the invitation with other thirsty souls. Amen.

Ralph
